Real Sociedad vs Levante set for 25 October (18:30)

This will be the third league game after the big international break and also the last one in a run of five closely spaced matches, before a week that should offer more breathing room.

Calendar pressure before the derby

The Real’s timing is particularly tight. As Mundo Deportivo notes, the team will travel to Norway for a Europa League game at Lillestrøm on Thursday 22, meaning the turnaround before the league fixture will be just one day.

Levante, meanwhile, also won’t have much rest despite not playing in Europe. According to the same report, they still need to recover the previously postponed game caused by heavy rain last week. That rescheduled match is vs Athletic on Wednesday 21 at 20:00.

Recent context

Mundo Deportivo adds some recent history as well: Levante was the last team to lose at Anoeta back in April, until Real Sociedad beat Espanyol on 29 August. The piece also highlights that Sergio Gómez is the only player with a perfect record of starts this season.
