Robert Navarro powers Athletic attack and targets goal continuity

Robert Navarro, from Athletic Club, is leading the club’s scorers list with two goals and wants to keep building after the opening draw against Alavés. In an interview at Lezama with MARCA, the winger praised Terzic’s game plan and said the coaching staff arrives with detailed work, using videos of actions from “a season ago” and even “two seasons ago”.

On the coach, Navarro says his message is “very clear and direct”, and explains that early on there were many more translations than now, with Alex Albiestegi helping. He also feels at home in a role where the winger cuts inside: “It’s an area of the pitch where I feel comfortable, both on the outside and inside.” He adds that Andy Hughes is the one who drives set-piece work.

Navarro expects his impact to grow in Primera through fine details both in attack and defense, and sets his goal for the year: “That’s the objective” — scoring and providing assists. He underlines that he is tied to the club until 2030, and links that stability to feeling settled in the squad and the city.
