Robin Le Normand out for 1.5 weeks: Simeone loses his Spain call-up

Diego Simeone, Atlético Madrid’s coach, confirmed that Robin Le Normand will miss about a week and a half due to his call-up with the Spain squad. The defender was one of the six first-team players who trained normally this week in Majadahonda, and now he’s set for Spain’s next three Nations League fixtures.

As Mundo Deportivo reports, Simeone’s schedule was also affected by international duty, along with the absences of Pablo Barrios and Alexander Sorloth. Le Normand had been a key option for the national team before the Euro 2025 win, but then fell out of favour ahead of the World Cup—until these latest call-ups.

Eric García left the Spain camp due to discomfort and Luis de la Fuente summoned Atlético’s centre-back as replacement.
