Rodri Ely hospitalized with ankle arthritis

Rodri Ely, UD Almería centre-back, has been in hospital since last Tuesday due to a right-ankle inflammatory condition that has been diagnosed as arthritis. As the club states in a message reported by MARCA, the player is receiving intravenous treatment in the joint, and while his progress is described as slow, it is considered positive. The club’s wording stresses that he is doing “well” and remains under daily analytical monitoring.

Treatment and medical checks

Almería said Ely underwent a series of tests at Hospital Vithas Virgen del Mar before the hospital admission. After reviewing his situation, the medical staff decided to keep him hospitalized in order to administer anti-inflammatory medication along with the specific IV therapy for the arthritis.

Slow, but positive recovery

The club also tried to bring calm, noting that the evolution is slow but favourable. This Saturday, Ely had further tests to assess how he is responding, and the results allowed the medical team to keep a positive outlook. Discharge is expected only once the clinical picture has fully resolved.

There has also been clear support from teammates: after scoring the first goal in the match against Celta Fortuna, Nico Melamed showed a shirt with his partner’s name and number. According to what his surroundings told MARCA, the situation is not considered to be “serious”.
