Good news for UD Almería: Rodrigo Ely has received hospital discharge after being admitted to Hospital Vithas to treat arthritis in his right ankle, according to MARCA.

The Brazilian defender has responded well to intravenous and anti-inflammatory treatment and leaves hospital to continue his recovery under the supervision of the club’s medical staff. His condition had been closely monitored in the days following a major inflammatory process he suffered after the match against Córdoba on September 12.

Tests that followed confirmed the issue was arthritis in his right ankle, making hospital treatment necessary. Now that the first phase is over, the second stage shifts to recovery outside the hospital, with continuous medical control from UD Almería.

Out for now

Ely had regained prominence in García Pimienta’s plans and had become an important part of the rojiblanco back line, so his absence is a blow for the coach.

For the moment, he will miss this weekend’s game against Mallorca. The club has not set a specific return date to competition, but the expectation is that his ankle continues to improve and that he can rejoin training progressively once the medical team deems him fit, as MARCA reports.
