Saúl Ñíguez on Flamengo: “It’s awful not to play” after 2-1 vs Bragantino
The Flamengo midfielder says he’ll look for a chance elsewhere if he’s not trusted, after returning to the XI after four months.
Saúl Ñíguez, of Flamengo, talked openly about his situation with a blunt take: “Every player wants to play and, if he doesn’t, he has to look for an opportunity outside.” After a rough spell, he returned as a starter for the first time in four months in Flamengo’s 2-1 win over Bragantino.
The former Atlético de Madrid man also described the nerves of his comeback: “I was a bit nervous… It’s hard. It’s awful not to play.” He added his view on his impact when he does get minutes: “When I don’t play I’m expensive, when I play I’m very good.”
He finished by backing the direction of the team and his own mindset: “I’m happy to play for Flamengo,” and he stressed he’ll keep working for the next chance.
