Sebastián Cáceres ruled out after a groin issue: returns to Celta Vigo

Sebastián Cáceres, the Celta Vigo centre-back, left Uruguay’s team camp this Tuesday because of a groin/pubic-area issue that stopped him from training normally. The Uruguay FA (AUF) said the defender will return to Vigo to continue his recovery with Celta’s medical staff.

Cáceres joined the Galician side on the last day of the transfer window, but he did not play any minutes in Uruguay’s friendlies against Japan and South Korea, as reflected in the matchups involving the national team.
