Sorba Thomas “unhurt” after car crash near Hull City

Wales international winger Sorba Thomas (27 caps and 2 goals) was involved in a road accident this Friday morning near Hull City’s training ground in Cottingham, as his club confirmed. L'Équipe reports that photos of his overturned car circulated widely online.

In a statement, Hull City moved quickly to reassure fans. The club said Thomas came out “entirely uninjured” from the incident. “Hull City is relieved to confirm that Sorba Thomas is unharmed following a road accident that occurred near the club’s training centre in Cottingham,” the team said.

Hull City also addressed the viral images, noting it had seen footage circulating on social media and wanted to calm supporters. “The club is aware of images of Sorba Thomas’s car circulating on social media and wants to reassure supporters: he has suffered no injury and left his vehicle completely unhurt,” the Tigers added.

Thomas joined Hull City this summer from Stoke City after the summer transfer window closed, with a prior spell at FC Nantes on loan. In 2024-2025 he scored 1 goal in 27 matches for Nantes, and in 2025-26 at Stoke he netted 10 times in 52 appearances before moving to Hull for close to €9 million.
