Sporting aim to end their Tartiere hoodoo vs Real Oviedo

Sporting head into this Sunday’s Asturian derby carrying the most uncomfortable stat: they haven’t won at the Carlos Tartiere since October 28, 2001. Their last triumph was a 0-2 win, with goals from Lozano and David Villa, and since then they’ve recorded nine straight visits without victory against Real Oviedo.
The run began after Oviedo’s 2-1 success the following season and the home advantage has stayed in place since the derby returned to the Tartiere in 2017/18. The last two meetings finished 0-0 in 2023/24 and 1-1 in 2024/25.
Oviedo arrive on a five-game streak without defeat vs Sporting, and Larcamón described the derby as “one of the most passionate in Spain,” according to MARCA.
