Swedberg called up by Sweden, Celta lose their winger

Williot Swedberg, a winger for Celta, has been selected by Sweden’s coach Graham Potter to replace the injured Gustaf Nilsson for the upcoming Nations League fixtures. As Mundo Deportivo reports, the call-up comes after Nilsson was ruled out.

Sweden’s Nations League run

Sweden will kick off their Nations League B campaign in Solna against Romania on September 25, then face Poland on September 28. After that, they travel for a match against Bosnia-Herzegovina on October 2, before ending this stretch of games versus Romania on October 5.

Mundo Deportivo also notes that Sweden will be joined by Celta’s centre-back Carl Starfelt for these matches. With Swedberg on international duty, Celta will have to manage without one of their key attacking options around those dates before rejoining the league schedule.
