Utebo and Peña Sport swing Saturday’s Segunda RFEF games

Utebo took a big win at Olot and handed them what proved to be a turning point: it was Olot’s first defeat of the season. The match was decided early when David Aparicio finished a move from the right to score in the third minute (0-1). Despite the shock, Olot stayed in the game.

Utebo strikes early

Olot had chances to respond, with Mario almost equalising in the 21st minute and Marti Soler testing the goalkeeper shortly after. The equaliser finally came after the break: Walid collected a loose ball in the box and scored with an emphatic volley for 1-1 in the 54th minute.

But Utebo found the edge again. In the 73rd minute, Camilo Leitón made it 1-2 after receiving a decisive through ball from William. As reported by Mundo Deportivo, the visitors managed the game after going ahead, in a match that still had moments for both sides.

The same round also featured Espanyol B losing ground. Peña Sport beat the visitors and underlined the importance of the day: up until that match, Espanyol B had dropped zero points.

Peña Sport went ahead via Imanol Urdaniz, who finished from close range at the far post after a corner (41’), making it 1-0. Espanyol B hit back quickly: Pol Rivera equalised in the 44th minute, finishing a left-side combination with a pass back from Thomas Dean.

In the second half, Peña Sport kept pushing until stoppage time. Terés won the ball, carried the attack and played in Asirón; his cross to the second post was returned by Iñaki, and Terés scored again to seal 2-1 in the 94th minute.
