Vincent Sierro joins Parma on a one-season deal

Vincent Sierro is set for a new chapter: the Swiss international and former Toulouse captain has signed with Parma, this Friday, according to L'Équipe. The 30-year-old midfielder arrives in Italy after a spell where he was free to negotiate following his contract termination with Al-Shabab, and he has put pen to paper for one season.

Sierro’s path has taken him through several top leagues—Super League Switzerland, the Bundesliga, Ligue 1 and, most recently, the Saudi Pro League. He previously played for Toulouse from 2023 to 2025, and the outlet highlights that he was looking for a fresh challenge after leaving Al-Shabab.

A new stage in Serie A

As L'Équipe reports, despite interest from multiple French clubs, Sierro chose Parma and the direction of young Spanish coach Carlos Cuesta. Cuesta is also described as having worked as an assistant to Mikel Arteta at Arsenal.

The move comes with a sporting target: getting back to the highest level in Serie A, with the aim of returning to the Swiss national team. He missed the World Cup this summer, but he did play at the Euro 2024.

What this means for Parma

For Parma, it’s a low-risk signing with international experience: a midfielder used to different styles and capable of stabilising games. The immediate question now is how quickly Sierro becomes a key piece in Cuesta’s setup and whether his performances deliver the consistency he needs to get back into national-team contention.
