Aguerd joins Real Sociedad on loan from Marseille

The transfer of Nayef Aguerd is done. The Moroccan defender, 30 years old, leaves Olympique Marseille for Real Sociedad on loan, according to L'Équipe.

The deal includes a paid loan of 2 million euros for the 2025-2026 season, plus a non-mandatory purchase option worth 17 million euros. The player completed his medical examination on Wednesday.

Aguerd returns to San Sebastián, where he played earlier in the 2024-2025 season. For Marseille, the move helps ease the wage bill in the 2026-2027 campaign, a key factor in the negotiations. The Moroccan avoids the rumored move to Qatar to land at a far more attractive sporting option.
