Almeida snubs Swansea and waits for Celta chance

André Almeida's transfer to Swansea remains stuck. According to Mundo Deportivo, Valencia sealed a deal with the English Championship side for around €3.5 million plus add-ons, but the Portuguese midfielder refuses to give the green light. The player prefers to wait for an opportunity at Celta Vigo, although Valencia are unsure whether the Galician club has genuine interest.

While his future hangs in the balance, Almeida continues training away from the main group at Paterna for a third consecutive day. Should the deal not close today, he will rejoin Carlos Corberán's squad on Friday. The Valencia boss does not count on the Portuguese player, who renewed his contract until 2029 less than a year ago.

Resolving this situation is pressing for Valencia: Almeida's departure would free up funds to sign a right-back, a club priority. Corberán has only Dimitri Foulquier for that position, and the Frenchman is still recovering from a knee injury.
