Araujo makes Liverpool debut in friendly

The Uruguayan centre-back features for the Reds against Como days after leaving Barcelona.

Ronald Araujo made his first appearance in Liverpool colours on Sunday in a friendly against Como, managed by Cesc Fábregas. The Uruguayan defender, who completed his move from Barcelona to Anfield just days earlier, came on in the second half replacing Jacquet.

In his opening minutes wearing the red shirt, Araujo displayed the defensive quality that established him as one of the world's top centre-backs: sharp positioning and the commanding presence that defines his play. A promising start lies ahead.

The player himself showed his enthusiasm upon arrival, as reported by Mundo Deportivo. "I'm very, very happy. I'm excited to be here at this great club with so much history," he told the club's media, adding that he has "so much desire to get started" and is "very motivated".
