Araujo joins Liverpool with guaranteed playing time

Ronald Araujo begins a new chapter at Liverpool after completing his loan move from Barcelona for one season, according to Mundo Deportivo. Anfield will cover his wages and holds a €55 million purchase option at the end of the loan period.

At 27 years old, the Uruguayan international arrives in ideal circumstances to regain the minutes that eluded him at Barcelona. Liverpool faces a significant defensive crisis: captain Virgil van Dijk is practically the only available centre-back, while Conor Bradley is sidelined with a knee injury, Giovanni Leoni recovers from an ACL injury, and Joe Gomez is also unavailable.
