Araújo heads to Liverpool: loan with €55M buyout option
The Uruguayan defender is flying to Merseyside to complete his loan move to Liverpool with a €55M purchase option.
Ronald Araújo is set to become a Liverpool player. According to Fabrizio Romano, the agreement between the Reds and Barcelona is being finalized with a loan deal where the English club will cover the full salary of the defender.
The deal includes a €55 million buyout option —not mandatory— that Liverpool can trigger in the future. The Uruguayan did not travel with Barcelona today and will fly to Merseyside tomorrow to undergo medical tests and sign the paperwork.
At 27 years old, Araújo arrives to strengthen the defence after several seasons at Barça, where he has established himself as one of Europe's most reliable defenders.
