Arteta reassures: "I will sign a new contract with Arsenal"

The Arsenal manager confirmed his intention to renew and said he feels "extremely happy" at the club.

Mikel Arteta moved to settle any doubts about his future before the start of the season proper. The Arsenal manager spoke to the fanbase to reassure them about his future: "I want to stay here, where I'm extremely happy, I'm sure we'll sort things out and I'll sign a new contract," he said, according to Sky Sports.

The Basque coach's current deal with the *Gunners* runs until 2027, meaning he enters the final year of his contract. "I'm very grateful to everyone, and also for working with the people I work with," Arteta added in his remarks.

Regarding the Community Shield clash against Manchester City, the manager warned of the challenge ahead: "It will be a very demanding match. City always find a way to compete and they have world-class players. We need to deliver our best version to win the trophy." He also confirmed that Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka and Martín Zubimendi are in contention to play, though initially they may start on the bench due to lack of match fitness after their post-World Cup rest.
