Bardghji out with ACL rupture and surgery ahead

Medical tests have confirmed what was feared: Roony Bardghji has ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, according to Mundo Deportivo. The Barcelona winger, 20, suffered the injury during a training session on Monday and will now go under the knife.

The club has not yet estimated his recovery time, which will depend on how the operation goes. The precedent is not encouraging: Bardghji injured the same knee while at Copenhagen before joining Barça, missing eleven months between April 2024 and March 2025.

This injury closes the door on a potential exit for the player this winter. Just days ago, Barcelona had met with his representatives and left him out of the squad for Saturday's friendly triangular against Nottingham Forest and Udinese, fuelling speculation over a loan move or a transfer with a buyback option. Bardghji is contracted until 2029 and had opportunities last season but failed to truly break through.
