Bayindir: «I wanted to come here and give my all for Celta»

Altay Bayindir was presented on Wednesday as Celta's latest signing. The Turkish international arrives on loan from Manchester United with a purchase option, becoming the club's fourth arrival this season.

During his presentation, Bayindir highlighted the impact of manager Claudio Giráldez's call in his decision: «I had other options before coming, but when I could speak with Claudio, coming here became my only choice. I wanted to come here and give my all for the club». The goalkeeper also praised his teammates' reception, especially that of keeper Radu: «When you arrive as a goalkeeper, it's normal to feel strange, but Radu was very good with me from the start».

From the sporting direction, Marco Garcés expressed his satisfaction: «I want to thank them for their effort and ease in negotiations with Manchester United, who did their part. It helps us be more competitive on the pitch now that we must face three competitions».

Bayindir acknowledged the importance of adapting to Spanish football: «It's very important to learn Spanish now and understand LaLiga's style. Playing Europa League was a factor in coming». According to MARCA, the goalkeeper was aware of the competition with Radu: «It's difficult to be a backup goalkeeper, but you have to help the team as much as possible».
