Buonanotte joins Elche on loan as third signing of the window

The Argentine international arrives from Brighton to strengthen Elche's attacking options ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Elche have announced the signing of Facundo Buonanotte on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion, according to MARCA. The Argentine is the club's third recruit of the summer, following the arrivals of Fer Niño and Javi Morcillo under manager Martín Anselmi.

At 21 years old, Buonanotte moves to the Martínez Valero after building experience in the Premier League and European competitions. The offensive midfielder, who also holds Italian citizenship, joined Brighton in early 2023 for around six million euros from Rosario Central. Over three seasons with the English club, he made 50 official appearances, including five in the Europa League.

In recent campaigns, he has sought regular football elsewhere: the 2024/25 season saw him accumulate over 1,500 minutes at Leicester City, while last year he featured for Chelsea in the Champions League before a mid-season loan move to Leeds United where he struggled for playing time. Elche highlight his versatility across attacking and midfield positions, with technical quality and game vision to drive their offensive play.
