The 17-year-old French U19 captain moves from Udinese to the Dutch side on a deal with quasi-mandatory purchase clause.
Abdoulaye Camara is on his way out of Udinese. The French U19 international and captain, just 17 years old, will join Ajax Amsterdam on loan with a quasi-mandatory buyout option, according to L'Équipe.
After weeks of negotiations, both clubs have reached a deal: a loan move with a purchase obligation set at €15 million. A substantial fee for such a young talent who only arrived in Italy a few months ago.
A bright path ahead
Camara, born in Marseille, came through the ranks at Montpellier under Jean-Louis Gasset before his move to Serie A. Udinese paid just €1.2 million to secure him last summer, and are set to make an impressive profit on the deal. The defensive midfielder has already travelled to the Netherlands for his medical examination.
His contract with Ajax will run until 2031 once the buyout option is triggered, which will activate automatically under certain conditions. At Udinese, he earned some Serie A experience and served as captain of the club's Primavera side, accumulating valuable minutes at youth level.
