Castellón sell Mabil to Melbourne City

CD Castellón have confirmed the transfer of winger Awer Mabil to Melbourne City. The Australian player, who featured in the World Cup with his national team this past season, returns home after a year and a half at the Castellón club.

Mabil joined Castellón in the winter transfer market and made a solid impact in Segunda División. In the first half of the 2024/25 campaign he provided six assists, while in the previous season he scored three goals and also contributed six assists.

Before heading to Europe, the winger developed at Australian club Adelaide United. The Spanish side thanked him in an official statement for «his professionalism, commitment and dedication» during his time there, wishing him the best of luck in this new chapter in the Australian league.
