Celta finalizes Unai Núñez loan to Espanyol

Unai Núñez is set to leave Celta on loan to Espanyol. According to MARCA, the agreement includes a mandatory purchase option worth three million euros if the Catalan club achieves certain sporting objectives during the season.

The Perico side will also pay a small fee for the loan. This is the fourth loan move in three seasons for the defender, who has previously been on loan at Athletic, Verona, and Valencia.

Núñez was not called up by Claudio Giráldez for any preseason matches and did not travel on Celta's mini tour of Italy, confirming the rumors surrounding his departure. After two years with plenty of playing time in Vigo, the center-back will have the chance to regain prominence at Espanyol.
