Cerezo backs Kang-in Lee as Atlético's next talent

Atlético Madrid's president welcomes the South Korean winger from PSG, highlighting his technical quality and game vision.

Enrique Cerezo presided over Kang-in Lee's official presentation at the Metropolitano, where the Atlético Madrid president underlined the club's backing for the South Korean winger. "Our sporting direction had been following this player for some time," Cerezo said, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The president outlined Lee's career path: "At just 11 years old, he made the decision with his family to join Valencia, where he spent a decade in their academy. He has technical quality and game vision, which took him to PSG in summer 2023. There he has won many titles, including the last two Champions Leagues".

A strategic signing with commercial reach

Cerezo also emphasized the commercial and strategic side of the move. "Just ten days ago our team played in South Korea, a country we're delighted to visit as it welcomes us with great affection and respect. We could see his enormous impact there," he noted, acknowledging Lee's standing in his homeland.

Addressing the player directly, Cerezo was emphatic: "I'm convinced you'll be a key pillar in our team and will make our fans happy, starting this Wednesday against Málaga. Welcome." Lee arrives with championship-winning experience in Ligue 1 and the challenge of providing creativity and goals on Atlético's attacking flank.
