Chavarría heads to London for medical and signing

Pep Chavarría has traveled to London on Friday to undergo his medical examination and sign his contract with Chelsea, as reported by Mundo Deportivo. The Rayo Vallecano left-back, 28 years old, will become Cucurella's replacement following the world champion's move to Real Madrid.

The agreement between the English club and Vallecano was finalized Thursday night. Chelsea will pay €19 million plus €2 million in bonuses to secure the defender. Chavarría had been training alone while waiting for the deal to be completed, and had already agreed his contract terms with Xabi Alonso's team.

Originally from Figueres, Chavarría played for Figueres, Olot, and Zaragoza before joining Rayo in 2022. He stands out for his physical presence on the left flank and defensive intensity.
