Chelsea sets Friday deadline: City hunting for Fernández replacement after Barça snub for Rodri

The transfer market just got tighter. According to The Guardian, Chelsea has set a Friday 5pm deadline for any club to table an official bid of £120 million for Enzo Fernández. If the Argentine midfielder's asking price isn't met by then, he stays put at Stamford Bridge.

Manchester City are accelerating their search for a Rodri replacement after turning down Barcelona's second approach—around €60m (£51m)—for the Spain midfielder. City are holding out for between £60m and £65m, though Rodri has made his preference for the Camp Nou clear, leaving City to believe his departure is all but certain.

To fund the operation, City have agreed a deal to sell Tijjani Reijnders to Saudi Arabian club Al-Qadsiah for roughly €60m. Meanwhile, Jeremy Doku has penned a new contract extension until 2031, backing new boss Enzo Maresca's vision. Doku told The Guardian: "With Enzo here now I am really excited. His style of football is what we love."
