City and Barça negotiate over Rodri: €70m vs €45m

The main stumbling block is financial: the English club is asking for around €70 million for a player with one year left on his contract, while the Catalan side is pushing for €45 million fixed plus variables.

The tough part is convincing City. The real obstacle doesn't come from the player: Rodri has already agreed to Barcelona and rejected Real Madrid to choose the blaugrana. That agreement in principle was sealed last weekend, so the operation favours Barcelona regarding the footballer himself.
