Cuenca returns to Sporting on loan from Como
The centre-back completes his return to Gijón and is ready to face Burgos this weekend.
Andrés Cuenca is now officially Sporting's tenth signing. The defender joins on loan from Como after impressing during his previous spell with the Asturian side last season. According to Sport, the player arrived in Asturias last Sunday and was already present at El Molinón on Monday to watch the club's league debut.
The centre-back has joined Nicolás Larcamón's squad and took part in the first training session following the Sabadell match, featuring in a friendly against the youth team. He will wear number 44, meaning he does not occupy a senior squad slot. Pending official registration, he will be available for the second game against Burgos.
Back where he belongs
Cuenca has shown his happiness about returning to Gijón. "Happy to be back here. From the first moment I knew this was my place to return," he stated on arrival at the airport. The centre-back comes fresh from pre-season with Como and Spanish U-19 European champion status, arriving in top competitive form.
