Diego Rico joins Osasuna after leaving Getafe

Diego Rico (33 years old) has been officially presented as a new Osasuna player after joining on a free transfer from Getafe. During his presentation, the defender expressed his motivation for this new chapter: "It's a new challenge, a new experience, to give everything as I have always done throughout my career, leave it all on the pitch and help the team as much as possible".

Rico acknowledged that recent weeks without a club have been tough. "The wait has been long. In the end, trying to train on my own, what I could. There are harder days, easier days, more motivated days, less motivated days, but ultimately, with the support of my family, my partner, my friends, trying to make the best of it", he explained, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The full-back thanked Osasuna for their confidence and committed to repaying it "on the pitch, in daily work, with hard work and humility". He has signed a one-year contract, leaving the door open to see "what other options there are" when the season ends. Sporting director Braulio Vázquez highlighted that they had tried to sign him "several times".
