Diomande deal nears completion as Madrid and Leipzig resume talks

Real Madrid and Leipzig restart negotiations for Yan Diomande with hopes of finalizing the transfer this week, which would make him Madrid's most expensive signing ever.

The Yan Diomande operation enters its decisive phase. According to Mundo Deportivo, Real Madrid and Leipzig resumed negotiations yesterday after days of uncertainty, and everything points to a quick resolution. Both clubs had already laid out the agreement's foundation earlier in the week, but now they expect to finalize the deal this Wednesday.

The 19-year-old forward will arrive at Madrid to bolster their attack after beating PSG to his signature. The operation will reach €140 million between the fixed fee (€130 million) and add-ons (up to €10 million), making it Real Madrid's most expensive transfer ever, surpassing Eden Hazard (€120 million) and Jude Bellingham (€110 million plus variables).

The club wants Diomande available this week under Mourinho's command, after the player missed Leipzig's pre-season camp due to illness. Once this signing closes, Madrid will push forward with Rodrigo Hernández, with whom they already have an agreement pending only a fee with City that could be around €60 million.
