Dotor set for 2-3 weeks out with knee sprain
Málaga CF confirms Carlos Dotor suffered a knee injury in Friday's friendly in Ceuta and will miss the league opener.
The friendly last Friday in Ceuta cost Málaga CF more than just a defeat. The match at Alfonso Murube left two serious injuries: those of Carlos Dotor and Fernando Calero, as confirmed by the club on Monday.
The official medical report shows that Dotor has a Grade I injury to the medial collateral ligament of his right knee — a minor sprain that will sideline him for 2-3 weeks. He is ruled out for the league debut at the Metropolitano.
Calero's case is more serious. The defender has fractures in three ribs (9, 10 and 11 on the left side), meaning a layoff of over a month. The new centre-back signing could miss up to 7 matches before the first break in September, according to Sport.
