Edouard in doubt for French Super Cup against PSG

Lens's striker suffered an injury in a friendly and his availability for the Trophée des Champions will be decided on Saturday after training.

Odsonne Edouard is touch-and-go for the Trophée des Champions between RC Lens and PSG this Sunday (20:45). The French forward picked up an adductor problem during the friendly against Sunderland last Saturday and could not take part in full team training at Bollaert on Friday, according to L'Équipe.

Manager Dino Toppmöller confirmed that Edouard "will train with the group on Saturday", when a final call will be made. "There are many matches this season, we're not going to take any risks now", stressed the German coach, showing caution over his key attacking player's recovery.

More defensive concerns

Lens's injury problems extend to their backline: centre-backs Jonathan Gradit and Nidal Celik, plus left-back Jhoanner Chávez, are also not yet physically available for the trophy final.
