Al-Ahli set sights on Pape Gueye

Arabic football has identified Pape Gueye as a priority target. According to French newspaper L'Équipe, Al-Ahli have their sights set on the Senegalese midfielder from Villarreal to become one of their cornerstones in midfield.

The African footballer's season has been notable, marked by a strong showing at the Africa Cup of Nations, goals in the World Cup, and solid performances for Villarreal. The Spanish club is well aware that Gueye is attracting interest, though no formal offers have yet reached the club.

Villarreal would only consider selling him for substantial figures. An operation around 40 million euros would provide the Castellón club with sufficient financial power to source a quality replacement in the market. Al-Ahli, already investing close to 40 million euros this summer on Portuguese forward Trincao, has proven their ambition with major international signings.
