Atletico holds firm with Julián Álvarez amid Barcelona interest

The club rejects any Barcelona offer for the Argentine striker, including figures of 150 or 200 million euros, as confirmed by its CEO.

FC Barcelona has intensified its moves for Julián Álvarez: sporting director Deco has met with the player's agent in recent hours. However, Atletico Madrid confirms to Mundo Deportivo that its position remains exactly the same as they communicated publicly on July 17th.

Colchonero CEO Miguel Ángel Gil Marín was emphatic at that time: "Our answer is infinite, we don't want to transfer him, we won't accept 100 million nor will we accept an offer of 150 or 200." The club has taken bold steps to prove it: it even rejected the option to sign Víctor Osimhen from Galatasaray for 75 million because that position is already occupied by the Argentine striker.

From Argentina, it's expected that Álvarez will try to reverse the situation in a conversation with Simeone when he returns to training. Coach Simeone, who has publicly backed the player, maintains private total support for the club's decision. Atletico is confident in turning the situation around and continues working with Álvarez on his specific preparation plan.
