Betis puts Amrabat on hold to focus on landing a striker

The Andalusian club hasn't ruled out the Moroccan midfielder's return, but will revisit it once they sort finances and land their main attacking target.

Real Betis has clear priorities in the market: landing a centre-forward. According to MARCA, the sporting directorate led by Manu Fajardo has spent months analysing profiles and building a list of alternatives with Pellegrini's blessing to strike when the opportunity arises.

Sofyan Amrabat is also on the table as a potential return option. The Moroccan midfielder heads back to Fenerbahçe after his loan spell at the Betis. The coaching staff rate him as a quality player who could strengthen the midfield in a Champions League year, but the club has shelved his comeback while awaiting several conditions: rescinding his contract with the Turkish side (running until 2028) and significantly cutting his wages, which are too high for Betis's financial fair play limits.

Meanwhile, Dani Ceballos is also under consideration in midfield, though bringing him in would equally require freeing up salary space through sales. The priorities remain: sealing a top-class striker, moving on players like Iker Losada or Gonzalo Petit, and settling Nelson Deossa's future.
