Burgos sign coveted Álex Forés from Villarreal
The striker becomes the club's seventh signing and joins on a deal until 2030, strengthening the attack of Córdoba's opening-day opponent.
Burgos have officially announced the signing of Álex Forés, a striker from Villarreal on a contract until 2030. According to Sport, the attacker becomes the Castilian side's seventh summer recruit.
Forés, who spent the 2025-2026 season on loan at Oviedo in the top flight, had also been considered by Córdoba CF during the transfer window. However, he ultimately chose to join El Plantío, filling the void left by Fer Niño following his move to Elche.
The arrival completes part of Burgos' extensive overhaul under manager Sergio Francisco after a busy summer of departures. Beyond Fer Niño, the club has also seen exits including Florian Miguel, Iván Morante and Miguel Atienza. Earlier signings include Javi Llabrés, Alberto Dadie, Oier Luengo, José Gragera, Santiago Lecina and Ignasi Vilarrasa.
