Ceuta defeats Málaga in friendly at Alfonso Murube

Ceuta claimed the twelfth edition of the Feria City Trophy on Friday, beating Málaga 2-1 at the Alfonso Murube stadium, according to Mundo Deportivo. The match held special significance as the city's first major sporting event since the late-July migration crisis, which was honoured with a minute's silence before kickoff.

Málaga started with territorial control, but Ceuta broke through at the 35th minute when Carlos Hernández headed home, deflecting off Salinas. Málaga equalized four minutes later through a direct free-kick by Haitam, before Kuki Zalazar restored Ceuta's lead just before the interval.

In the second half, the LaLiga-promoted side dominated possession but lacked the cutting edge to score, while Ceuta held firm in defence. Despite multiple substitutions from both sides, the hosts saw out victory without further drama.
