Córdoba signs Dani Budesca on loan from Villarreal

The 20-year-old right-back joins the Andalusian club on a season-long loan from Villarreal, who have extended his contract until 2031.

Córdoba CF seals their 15th signing of the 2026-27 season with the arrival of Dani Budesca, a 20-year-old right-back on loan from Villarreal for one campaign, according to Sport. The Murcian player extended his contract with the Castellón-based club until 2031 on the same day his loan move to the Andalusian side was made official.

A step forward in Budesca's career

Budesca, born in Murcia on May 27, 2006, is one of the most promising talents in Villarreal's academy. Last season he made 35 appearances for Villarreal B in Primera Federación, being the outfield player with the most minutes accumulated (2,954), even featuring in the playoff rounds for promotion to Liga Hypermotion. Villarreal want him to take the next step by competing in Spanish Second Division.

His trajectory through Villarreal's structure has been meteoric: he joined the academy at 11 years old in 2017 after training at Real Murcia. He has progressed through Villarreal C, Villarreal B, and in January 2026 he made his senior debut in Champions League against Bayer Leverkusen. He has also represented Spain in youth categories, reaching U-19 level.

Mutual commitment between clubs

The strong relationship between Córdoba and Villarreal smoothed negotiations. The previous example of Dani Requena, who moved to Córdoba before joining Levante on loan, proved the potential of the Córdoba project for Villarreal's young talent to continue developing. Budesca is a right-back with great athleticism, strong in duels and with attacking prowess.
