The Argentine centre-back joins Atlético Madrid's training ground just an hour after his transfer is made official.
The operation has moved at lightning speed. Just an hour after Atlético Madrid officially announced the signing of Cristian Romero, the centre-back was already at the club's Majadahonda training ground in red and white, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The Cuti, 28, closes his chapter at Tottenham after Madrid paid €40 million (including add-ons). The Argentine passed his medical on Friday and signed a five-year contract.
Ready for action
Romero already knows Diego Simeone, who has been keen to bring him in, and has connections with several teammates: Julián Álvarez, with whom he gets along well off the pitch, and fellow Argentines Musso and Giuliano. On his first day, the defender worked in the gym and on a stationary bike before stepping onto the pitch to get a feel for the ball.
He could be available for Wednesday's league debut against Málaga at the Metropolitano, but it's unlikely he'll get minutes: he'll arrive with just three group training sessions under his belt.
