Depor Abanca gave Real Madrid a real scare in Valdebebas, falling 2-1 in a preseason friendly, according to *Sport*. The clash marked the end of the summer duels between the Galician club and the Madrid side, following earlier matches at the Teresa Herrera (men's first team) and in Viveiro (reserve teams).

Alberto Rodríguez's side, already featuring ten new faces and with Inês Pereira back in the fold, showed their worth on the day. The match remained level at halftime, but the second half saw the Coruña outfit display real threat on the break. On 56 minutes, a long pass from Eva Alonso out of defence found Lucía Pardo, who finished decisively after a run from deep to make it 1-0.

The white shirts' comeback came swiftly. On 61 minutes, Oihane tapped in a cross from Candela Rodríguez to level. The winner arrived shortly after: on 66 minutes, an apparently harmless cross from Pau Rubio slipped into the Depor goalkeeper's net to seal a 2-1 final scoreline that reflected the relative ambitions of both teams.
