Deportivo probes Adama Traoré, but wage and preference hurdles loom
Deportivo contacted the West Ham free agent to assess terms, but his salary demands and desire to stay in England are complicating the move.
The operation is progressing slowly. Deportivo has reached out to Adama Traoré to explore the conditions under which the winger could join them at Riazor, but faces two significant obstacles: the player's financial demands exceed what the Galician club can afford, and Traoré prefers to continue his career in England, where he has built most of his professional track record.
According to Sport, the wages sought by the former Barcelona man are beyond Deportivo's current budget parameters. Although Traoré hasn't completely closed any doors, his priority remains staying in the British leagues, meaning a return to Spain is not on his immediate agenda.
Window closing
As summer progresses, options are tightening for both the club and player. If his financial expectations and personal preferences align with Deportivo's budgetary reality, both parties could find common ground. However, the path forward remains difficult.
The Galician side has already recruited Leo Román, Bright Ede, Angeliño, Teun Gijselhart, Lorenzo Amatucci, Jonathan Asp-Jensen and Aubameyang this summer, bringing their tally to seven signings. The sporting directorate remains attentive to other operations, though recent days have focused on resolving registration puzzles ahead of their league debut this Monday against Elche.
