Deportivo complete their LaLiga registrations ahead of Elche opener
The Galician side registered Asp-Jensen and Bright Ede and have the entire squad ready, though two players will debut with reserve squad numbers.
Deportivo completed their LaLiga registrations this morning with Jonathan Asp-Jensen and Bright Ede, the latest summer signings to join the project. According to *Sport*, all first-team players are now registered in the league system, leaving the Galician club ready for their competitive debut next Monday against Elche.
Squad numbers juggling
While the entire squad is registered, Bil Nsongo and Teun Gijselhart will take the field with reserve squad numbers (32 and 34 respectively). It's purely an administrative matter that, in the words of sporting director Fernando Soriano, "doesn't change the contract or the player's status, just the number." This solution allowed the club to manage their available squad slots without affecting the real status of those involved.
Currently only shirt number 17 remains unassigned, though Soriano has signalled that further changes will come in the coming weeks as departures materialise. Charlie Patiño and José Ángel Jurado, heading for the exit, will free up spaces in due course.
Transfer activity ongoing
Depórtivo remains active in the market, seeking two reinforcements: a centre-back and a right-winger. In the attacking department, the club has targeted Adama Traoré, a free agent after his West Ham deal expired, although his high wage demands and preference for staying in the Premier League have stalled the move so far.
