Deportivo claims Spagnolo Trophy with impressive performance

Angeliño made his debut in the first 60 minutes while Mella shone in the second half as Deportivo controlled the match until the final whistle.

Deportivo closed its European tour by winning the Spagnolo Trophy after beating Genoa in one of their best preseason performances. According to *Sport*, Angeliño enjoyed a dream debut in his first 60 minutes wearing the blanquiazul shirt, though he showed some imprecision in his passes. The full-back from Coristanco played with the number 34, still to be officially assigned.

The Galician side deployed a hybrid defense with Noubi as right-back and a midfield three made up of Soriano, Villares and Amatucci. Aubameyang continued to threaten with his pace and movement, though lacked precision to finish his chances. Genoa took control in the final quarter of the first half, but Deportivo dominated when their system clicked.

In the second period, David Mella was the standout after entering at half-time. The winger from Espasande constantly troubled his opposite number with his pace and crossing. The goal came late on when Kevin fired home decisively following a cross from Eddahchouri down the left flank for the decisive 0-1. The academy product nearly extended the lead with a close-range effort that hit the post.
