Borussia Dortmund is best positioned to sign Barcelona's fullback, who is training apart from the group while resolving his exit.
Héctor Fort (20 years old) has been training separately from FC Barcelona's squad while sorting out his future. The fullback no longer fits into Hansi Flick's plans for the season and is looking for a destination where he can have regular playing time.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Borussia Dortmund is the frontrunner to secure the Barcelona academy product. German interest is strong, although Fort's initial preference was to move to the Premier League. The German club offers attractive advantages: a top-tier league like the Bundesliga, Champions League football and, crucially, a clear philosophy of giving young players opportunities.
Valuation and conditions
Barcelona values him between 15 and 20 million euros, but doesn't want to lose full control of the player. The Blaugrana are open to lowering the price if they retain a percentage of his rights or a buyback option.
At Dortmund, Fort would find the perfect environment to grow: after Yan Couto's loan to Como, the club only has Julian Ryerson as a natural right-back. Following his spell at Elche, where a shoulder dislocation limited him for much of the season, the youngster wants to prove his potential at a top-level club.
