Borussia Dortmund is pushing hard for Barcelona's right-back, with the player open to the move and direct talks underway.
Borussia Dortmund is tightening its grip on Hèctor Fort. Sky Sports confirmed that the German club has particularly zeroed in on the 20-year-old Barcelona right-back, ahead of other targets like Josh Acheampong (Chelsea) and Marcus Pedersen (Torino). Direct negotiations between both clubs are already taking place.
Fort is receptive to a move to Germany and is seeking a project where he can play regularly—something not guaranteed at Barcelona under Hansi Flick's management. The academy product has been training away from the squad for several days while awaiting a resolution to his departure.
Financial obstacles complicate the deal
Barcelona values the player at between €15 and €20 million. Aware of the talent they've produced, the club does not want to lose full control and could lower the fee if they retain a percentage of his rights or include a buyback clause. Dortmund, meanwhile, appears more inclined toward a loan with two weeks left in the transfer window, unless they can offload other players and free up financial room.
The Bundesliga and Champions League represent a strong draw for a full-back who needs regular minutes to develop.
