Elche have announced the signing of midfielder Javier Morcillo from Atlético Madrid, according to Mundo Deportivo. The 20-year-old has signed a contract until June 2030, with the option to extend for an additional season based on meeting certain objectives.
Morcillo, who developed at the Marcet Academy and Sabadell's youth categories, made his senior debut with the Catalan side and helped them achieve promotion to Primera Federación in 2024-25. His impressive performances caught the attention of Atlético, who brought him in last summer to strengthen their B team under Fernando Torres.
The Barcelona-born midfielder, who made five appearances in LaLiga with Atlético's first team, stands out for his recovery ability, tactical reading, and distribution skills. This is Elche's second signing for the upcoming season.
