Espanyol pay tribute to Dani Jarque's memory

The Perica squad visited gate 21 at the RCDE Stadium to honour the eternal captain on the eve of the 17th anniversary of his passing.

The Espanyol first team and coaching staff passed through gate 21 of the RCDE Stadium this Friday to pay tribute to Dani Jarque, whose death will be remembered 17 years tomorrow, according to Mundo Deportivo. The tribute was held a day early because Saturday coincides with a friendly against Coventry (18.30), the final warm-up for Manolo González's side before their league opener against Levante.

Gate 21 at the Perica stadium will open on Saturday from 10.45 to 14.00 for supporters who wish to honour the eternal captain's memory. Nearly two decades after his passing, Jarque's legacy remains present in the 21st minute of every home match, at the training ground that bears his name, and in the hearts of the Espanyol faithful.
