Levante eyes Ndukwe to strengthen their defence

Levante is stepping up the search for defensive reinforcements in the final stages of the transfer market, and according to MARCA, the club has set its sights on Ifeanyi Ndukwe to complete their backline for the coming season.

The 18-year-old Austrian centre-back joined Liverpool in January from Austria Vienna for three million euros. However, the defender does not meet the minimum requirements for a UK work permit, prompting the Anfield club to seek a way out through a loan deal following an impressive pre-season under Iraola's management.

The situation suits Levante perfectly, as the club is navigating financial difficulties. With Alan Matturo and Matías Moreno departing, the sporting directors urgently need a new centre-back to partner Aïssa Mandi and Dela in defence, and a temporary loan like this could be the ideal solution to plug a critical gap in their back line.
