Mallorca close preseason with Elversberg test

Mallorca will play their last preseason friendly this Saturday at 21:00 against SV Elversberg at Son Moix. It will be the fifth warm-up match and the second at home before the start of the Liga Hypermotion 2026/27, which kicks off for the Balearic club on August 15th against Real Valladolid, also at Son Moix Stadium.

The German side were only promoted to the Bundesliga a few months ago, in May. From a small town of just 7,500 inhabitants, Elversberg has a storybook rise: in 2022 they were still competing in Germany's fourth division, and now they will face giants like Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen.

During this preseason, Mallorca have shown good form: according to Mundo Deportivo, the islanders have beaten PSG (3-0), Al Ittihad (2-4), Al Fateh (0-3) and Mallorca B (4-1). The match against the German side will be the final real test before diving into competitive action.
